Keder is a rope edge, made from a fabric surrounding a flexible core. The keder fabric is coated on the inside only. Secondly, The keder welds to regular PVC-coated fabrics where the outside of the keder fabric is uncoated, exposing the polyester yarns. Thus, exposing the yarns allows the keder to slide better in aluminum keder extrusions compared to coated fabrics sliding into the extrusion.

Four Distinct Advantages
The main advantage of this specific keder for use in fabric structures is the continuous connection it allows between a piece of fabric and a frame. Subsequently, this allows for a faster install, a safer install, and a better load distribution when comparing it with other methods. Therefore, this adds 4 distinct advantages to the product.
Strength in Weaves
2200 Dtex (2000 Denier) yarns compared to 1100 Dtex for most keders. As a result, a thicker yarn means less wear, higher strength, and better sliding.
Accuracy is Key
RF welded. Radiofrequency (or HF High Frequency) welded keder has better accuracy. Importantly, the accuracy and consistency of the distance between the core and the edge of the fabric are important to create tighter clearspan panels providing wind resistance. Better straightness improves efficiency in fabrication.
Weave Options
Plain weave: the use of the thicker yarn allows the use of plain weave, which results in a tighter weave. Many people find the plain weave less susceptible to fraying compared to the panama weave which is commonly used to create higher strengths and yarn counts with 1100 Dtex (1000 Denier) keder.

Keder rope (also called keder cord, awning rope, and sail rope) is a flexible round PVC extrusion designed to allow you to make your rope edge built into a fabric panel.
We sell keder cord by the roll in 7mm, 10mm, and 12mm diameter. Therefore, when ordering, be aware that the fabric will add approximately 1mm to the overall diameter.
